Department of Plant Protection and Agronomy
Department of Plant Protection and Agronomy conducts the research on methods for plant protection against diseases, pests and weeds in field and permanent crops. It has a molecular genetic laboratory whose major activity aims at detection of harmful organisms using immunological assays.

The department elaborates and designs integrated plant protection against harmful agents and develops new management practices to control their severity and harmfulness. It is an authorized workplace of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic for testing the efficacy of plant protection products according to GEP. Agronomic research is focused on the innovation of crop management practices for cereal species aiming at increasing production profitability, agroecology, soil properties and processes. It is engaged in the study of changes in soil physicochemical and biological characteristics in plant production systems and agroecological monitoring. The department provides advisory services for agricultural practice and organizes professional advisory meetings for specialists community. |
