Molecular Biology Laboratory
Our laboratory focuses on the detection of microorganisms, primarily phytopathogenic fungi, using modern molecular methods (PCR, qPCR). We provide:
- Species-specific detection of plant pathogens – including asymptomatic samples – for early-stage diagnostics (e.g. Fusarium spp., Microdochium spp., Oculimacula spp., Septoria sp., Pyrenophora sp., Cercospora sp.).
- Analysis of crop and harvest samples for the presence of Fusarium head blight pathogens in cereals.
- Preparation of fungal inoculum for fungicide efficacy testing (Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, Fusarium culmorum).
- Isolation and sensitivity testing of phytopathogenic fungi to fungicidal compounds (triazoles, imidazoles, strobilurins, SDHI), using FRAC methodologies.
- Research on plant interactions with endophytic and mycorrhizal fungi, including microscopic evaluation of root colonization.
In selected cases, we provide advice and recommendations for farmers and agronomists based on pathogen occurrence.
We also offer consultations on research proposals and collaboration opportunities in the field of plant-fungal interactions.
